2003 Cabernet Sauvignon
Composition
A blend that changes slightly with each vintage: 80% Cabernet Sauvignon,
10% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petite Verdot, 3% Merlot
Vineyards
Planted in 1978, the David Arthur Estate Vineyards are located on
the top of Pritchard Hill, overlooking the Napa Valley. Pritchard
Hill sits at the North East end of the Napa Valley and is part of the Vaca
Mountain Range; the soils here are orange-red and extremely rocky.
Fermentation and Aging
Wine varietals are soaked and fermented separately in stainless steel
tanks for six weeks. Transferred to 60 gallon French Oak barrels,
and aged for 21 months.
Production
700 Cases were produced in 2004.
The 2003 Vintage was released in October of 2005.
