2004 Elevation 1147
Composition
This wine is composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Vineyards
Planted in 1978, the David Arthur Estate Vineyards are located on
the top of Pritchard Hill, overlooking the Napa Valley. Pritchard
Hill sits at the North East end of the Napa Valley and is part of the Vaca
Mountain Range; the soils here are orange-red and extremely rocky. The
vineyard we source the Elevation fruit from, sits at an elevation of 1147
feet above sea level. These few rows of vines have been consistent
in their exceptional quality and intriguing flavor profile, inspiring us
to bottle the Elevation 1147 as a single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.
Fermentation and Aging
Grapes were soaked and fermented in stainless steel tanks for 6 weeks. The
wine was then transferred to 60 gallon French Oak barrels and aged for
21 months.
Production
200 Cases were produced in 2004.
The 2004 Vintage was released in October of 2006.
